Qiqong for personal improvement.

Outstanding. Well written. Easy to understand. Was recommended this book because of over-weight issues. Hard to plan my day and attain personal goals without a structure I can keep. "Qigong for Self-Refinement" delivers a structure for me. Discusses mental, physical and several other Chinese elements or approaches towards healing. I'm beginning to implement Chris Shelton's Qigong plan. A journey I can stay with.

Qigong - a natural way to achieve good health benefits

Initially, I only had experience with beginners Tai Chi and have enjoyed doing Tai Chi because it helped me with balance and coordination. Thankfully, a co-worker introduced me to Qigong. Based on what I've learned so far, Qigong is intended to improve functionality of our internal organs (heart, lungs, kidney, liver, and spleen), the movements are gentle and easy, and can be practiced by all ages. It promotes and supports good health. My take is that it's like taking vitamins and can helpful if it can be practiced at a minimum of least 15-20 minutes daily, longer is better if you have time. Let's just say that I can tell the difference when I don't do it. I'm not a Tai Chi or Qigong guru, but in my humble opinion, it seems that Tai Chi helps our bodies with the external functions while Qigoing helps with the internal functions. The book offers clear, concise, practical and insightful explanations. The author shares personal experiences along the way which can help readers in terms of practical application. It's very well written and easy to understand. This book is a gift and I'm glad I have it. I've also purchased additional copies and given them as gifts.
