Awesome Resourceful Book

Very Resourceful book. This book has a wide variety of scholarships to meet you at every stage of your educational level. Whether you are fresh out of high school, or going back, it's here. They even have scholarships you can apply for as early as middle school. I love how the beginning of the book list scholarship tools and information and the importance of applying for scholarships. I definitely recommend this book.

Very helpful information. I think the layout could be greatly improved on, however. For example, in the section where the scholarships are listed by location, why not actually sort them by location? In other words, have all the scholarships applicable to Iowa grouped together. I don't need to sort through 150 pages of stuff that is mostly irrelevant to me.

Hope in a hopeless situation

To say this is just another book about physical and sexual abuse would be a gigantic understatement. Mr. Clemenger recounts very vividly the absolute horrors and inhumane treatment he endured at the hands of the Christian Brothers. It's almost unbelievable the horrific abuse that was a daily way of life at the Industrial School, but to disbelieve would destroy the whole purpose of the book. Michael faced doubt and disbelief at every turn when he tried to speak out of how horrible it really was.

His aspiration to be a priest was squashed (ironically by a priest), his aspiration to be a doctor was squashed even before medical school entrance, his own mother, who early in his young life abandoned him, later was responsible for his imprisonment, and squashed any chance for a "normal" biological family. In spite of set backs at every turn, and a loss of faith that there was a God overseeing all this agony, he still had dreams. Because of so many disappointments, he seemed to genuinely appreciate and treasure even more the kindnesses that did come his way: from the dear lady who ran the boarding house and others, to his wife, who he described as "saving his life."

Such abuse is hard to read about, but reading this book is easy. Clear and well written, with additional facts and information at the conclusion of the story.

I concur with David Darva's reflection that this book is a "masterpiece," because I have found myself personally enthused about it. It is very concisely written and it actually covers the entire field of electrical engineering, getting the reader grounded for further study. It is a "hard book," only because there is so much in it. The examples force you deeply enough into the material to get a working understanding of what is going on, and the commentary gives you a feel for where things came from, how they fit in, etc. (I have the 4th Ed.)

Circuits, Devices, and Systems

This book seems to be written for those who are already familiar with the subject matter.

Many of the examples and problems have errors and while the theory is explained with mathematical depth, the concepts are underexplained. There are not enough examples to address the problems given, and there seems to be no solutions manual available to students (or instructors?).

You had better be the type of student who reads ahead, and have an instructor who will explain things in depth if you are going to be using this book. I recommend using a different one to suppliment this one.

A very emotional and satisfying romance.......

I really liked these characters. Dexter is just such a fine man and doing so well with becoming a father to his newborn nieces but at the price of his sleep and nerves! Along comes Crystal who needs a job. She's coming out of a some very tough years that she's been sick and now in remission from breast cancer. She also loves babies. Yup...she becomes the live-in nanny for the two beautiful twins that Dexter is losing so much sleep over. I really like Crystal. She's REAL. She's got an uncle living across the street from Dexter, along with two 'adopted' uncles and they are really fun to have around. They also look out for her and that's why they send her across the street to help Dexter when he's just lost (yet) another nanny.

It's a very heartwarming story. The romance builds slowly but surely and they become friends first. I've read this author's books for many years and she NEVER fails to give us an emotionally detailed story. Her writing is always exemplary. Took me awhile to find this story but once I did I HAD to read it and I'm so glad I did.

I'd recommend this story as highly as any. It's just a feel good (and HOT) story. You'll end up loving the characters. It's a book I'll keep and revisit yearly. It's that good.

lovely romance with happy ending: really likeable heroine and hero

The 35-year old heroine (loveable, sweet, and strong) has had a hard hard time. Cancer, loss of a breast, slimy husband leaving in the middle of her chemotherapy, horrid debts for her medical treatment, worry about the return of cancer, certainly that any man who saw her unclothed would run, ...

The 40-year old hero is a fairly successful owner of a real-estate agency. He had a very hard childhood with the only warmth coming from his twin who died soon after she gave birth to the twins he is trying to deal with.

You can guess the rest of the story: some twists, but in the end, they are both what the other really needs, and both get the happiness that neither had even hoped for.

The story is well written, moving (I shed a few tears, which is pretty rare for me), and satisfying.

In 2004, as an expert linguist (Ancient languages) and jurist (International Law , Comparative Middle Eastern Laws), de Lafayette was commissioned by Yale University, School of Law to translate from English to Arabic, The White House Draft of the New Constitution of Iraq. He is internationally known for his expertise in the history and languages of ancient civilizations, and social-legal studies of the Middle East.

It is NOTHING like Western System teachings at all

I am about half way through the book right now and I am seriously impressed!!!! It is NOTHING like Western System teachings at all! It does require a lot of self-study though, especially learning Arabic as well as memorizing all the KUWA, and don't fool yourself into skipping the hard effort required to learn a bit of a new language and committing to memory all the KUWA as it is for your own PROTECTION!!!! This book is Vol. 1 of 3 Books that all tie into each other, I bought all three books at the same time, Luckily for me, but at the time I did not realize how important all 3 books are to have, I assumed that I would fairly easily read through Vol. 1 and get started, but my views have now changed.... It will probably take me about 12 months to get through all three volumes as there is a lot KUWA (Words, Phrases, Spells and Formulae, which keep you in full control of the Séance as well as commands which MAKE the entity(s) obey and fulfil your wishes.... and again, for protection) that needs to be committed to memory before attempting any type of Summoning......... BE WARNED!!!!

About the Author

Carl G. Herndl is Professor of English and teaches in the graduate program in Rhetoric and Composition in the English department at the University of South Florida. He is also Associate Dean of the Patel College of Global Sustainability where he teaches in the Masters program in Sustainability.

Expectations- school 5. Personal 0.

This is a book for my English college course. My teacher is all about the environment. That's all we read about. Talk about. Write about.
I'm bored out of my mind.
This book is a collection of essays about the environment and sustainability. You'll learn some interesting tidbits and few essays mildly interesting. It's a good book, very well put together. A wide variety of environmental issues. The negative effects we have caused, how we caused them, and solutions. Many views both negative and positive.
This is 5 stars for my environmentalist nut of a teacher. It's a good book with good stuff about its topic.
My personal rating is a 0
Do I read ahead? No. If I found it in a library..? Flip thru the pages and read a passage or two, but not check it out.
Would I buy this of my own free will? Never.
It's not my cup of tea. I love reading and I could read whole books nonstop for hours beyond hours but it's such a chore to read just the pages I'm assigned to. I have to force myself to do it.
